Le Conte’s New Principal, Mr. Duran, Welcomes Olympic Skateboarding Ambassadors From China and Brazil

5392On December 1, 2017 the Le Conte Skatepark hosted a very special group of International Olympic Skateboard Ambassadors. There is an interest from China to build specialized training facilities for the sport of skateboarding to support their young athletes.

The excitement is heating up as skateboarding is set to make its debut in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. As a result, the Le Conte Skatepark caught the attention of the Chinese and featured a stop to visit the first LAUSD Skatepark.
